Neumann Systems Group will discuss a pilot plant study with Colorado Springs Utilities for the removal a SOx and CO2 using their advanced gas-liquid contactor technology. The meeting will be held at Agilent Technologies, 1900 Garden of the Gods Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80907-3417, Wednesday March 10, 11:30 – 1:30.

“Intermountain Region Sustainability Initiative”

Margaret McRoberts, Sustainability Coordinator for the NPS, and Tom Keohan, Historical Architect for the NPS, will present an overview of the Intermountain Region Sustainability Initiative. This program is designed to promote environmental practices in parks and other areas afforded protection by the NPS to mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) releases potentially contributing to climate change and to insure long-term sustainability. The presentation will also discuss the preservation and use of historic buildings as an alternative to their destruction and replacement as a specific example of implementing sustainability.

Margaret McRoberts has recent international experience with sustainability programs gained through internship duties associated with the Master's program for Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability from the Blekings Institute of Technology in Karlskrona, Sweden. She is applying this experience in her duties as the Sustainability Coordinator for the NPS. Tom Keohan is a Historical Architect with the NPS with extensive experience in providing documentation for the Historical Association Buildings Survey, the Historic American Landscape Survey and the Historic American  Engineering Record. More recently, he has been involved with the preservation and use of historical buildings as part of the NPS's nationwide sustainability program.

Directions to the National Park Service - Air Resources Division meeting room are:

Address:  7333 West Jefferson Avenue, 4th Floor – Lakewood

1.  Go south from Hampden (Hwy. 285) onto Wadsworth (take the Wadsworth exit off Hampden).

2.  Take the first light south of Hampden on Wadsworth (Denny's is on the left) onto Jefferson Avenue.

3.  Go two short blocks and turn left (no sign) and head a few hundred yards north to Academy Place 7333 (do not go into the parking lot of the first red building on the left -- go to the second red building).

4.  Take the elevator just inside the door to the 4th floor. The meeting room is located about 10 yards to the left.

The AWMA Rocky Mountain States Section will provide pizza and soft drinks for attendees at this meeting at no charge.
